Movie Review: The Cowboys

John Wayne plays Wil Andersen, an aging rancher who can't find local cowboys to run his cattle drive. His solution: Hire schoolboys, who will be forced to become men fast when they're attacked by a cattle-rustling gang. The was a very controversial film with unexpected twists and turns. I liked it a lot.

My Rating: ****

Wyatt Earp - Reincarnated

I think maybe I'm the reincarnation of Wyatt Earp. That would explain my passion for the frontier days of the old west.

I got my first "cowboy suit" and six gun cap pistol when I was about 5 years old. Believe it or not, I actually remember getting that suit and wearing it with pride.

I've added a few years since then, but I still get a flutter when I pull on my western duds, strap on my Colt 45 Peacemaker, don my cowboy hat and boots, and head for the dusty streets of a town from a day gone by.

My poor wife! I don't think she quite shares my enthusiasm, but she's a good sport. She plays "dress-up" right along with me and would surely command a second look from Wyatt or Doc.
